Haifa is the home of the World Center of the Bahai Faith. This beautiful golden domed structure is one of the most holy sites for the followers of the Bahai religion. Many objects of the Bahai World Center, including terraces and the Shrine of the Bab were included in the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE LIST, in July 2008. The architect was William Sutherland Maxwell, a Canadian Bahai.
